A Family Story Behind the Business
Kevin explained how Affordable Senior Home Care began. His father needed to arrange care for his own aging parent and could not find the right support nearby. That experience led to the founding of our agency in 2005. Kevin joined the family business in 2009 and has helped grow it ever since.

Why Licensed Agency Care Matters
One theme Kevin returned to often was the risk of hiring independent caregivers found through social media. An agency caregiver is certified, background checked, and covered by workers compensation and liability insurance. Independent hires often are not.
Agencies also provide nursing oversight. Our nurses complete a full evaluation before care begins, then follow up with regular phone calls, home visits, and reassessments. This structure helps catch small changes early, including symptoms that can be easy to miss at home.
If a scheduled caregiver becomes unavailable, an agency can send backup coverage. Families who rely on a single independent caregiver do not always have that safety net.

Helping Veterans Access VA Home Care Benefits
Kevin also highlighted a benefit many families overlook. Affordable Senior Home Care is contracted with the Veterans Administration to provide home care for senior veterans. Many veterans qualify for meaningful weekly hours of support and do not realize the program exists.
Kevin encourages any veteran or family member to start with a visit to their local VA office for an evaluation. From there, our team helps guide the family through next steps.
Supporting Ocean County Families and Community Causes
Beyond care services, the episode touched on our involvement with the Ocean County Business Association, including an annual golf outing that raises funds for local children and families through Caring for Children of Ocean County. Community connection has always been part of how we operate, not an afterthought.
